Main Menu Won't Display Sub-Menu-Items

Reported by: lonniebiz Owned by: cinelerra@…
Priority: highest Milestone:
Component: User Interface Version: 2.1.5
Severity: blocker Keywords: menu
Cc: mjhbrowne@…

Description

When I click on the Main Menu, in the "Program" window, it does some type of highlight effect, but no sub-menu-items get displayed.

How to reproduce:

I'm running Ubuntu Desktop 10.10 64bit edition.

I installed Cinelerra via the launch pad option listed here:
 http://cinelerra.org/getting_cinelerra.php#ubuntu

After installation, I had to increase my shmmax like this:

(1) sudo gedit /etc/sysctl.conf
(2) Add this to the end of the file:

kernel/shmmax=0x7fffffff

(3) Save.
(4) sudo sysctl -p

Also, tried rebooting, but that didn't help either.

I have the exact same problem - Ubuntu Desktop 10.10 64bit edition, installed from the same place as lonniebiz.

In my experience the menus very occasionally work, but only after clicking on them about 50 times.

  • keywords menu added

I encountered the same problem on a 32bit Ubuntu 10.10

In fact to make the menu open I have to mouse over the text like if the menu were open, that is mousing over on a position lower than expected.

So in my case to open the menu is "just" awkward, not impossible.
