Histogram effect with OpenGL & YUV produces incorrect colors & posterization

Reported by: pegasus@… Owned by: cinelerra@…

Component: Effects/Transitions Version: 2.1
Severity: minor Keywords:

Description

When using X11-OpenGL video driver and histogram effect with YUV(A) color space, the compositor output of the effect looks posterized (as if being displayed by an EGA monitor,) the colors are wrong, and keyframes don't smoothly transition (all compared to RGB color space or using X11 or X11-XV drivers.) Also, sometimes adjustment of the Histogram parameters has no immediate effect in the Compositor.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Cinelerra
2. Set colorspace to YUVA 8-bit
3. Set video driver to X11-OpenGL
4. Put video on timeline (tested with MiniDV (DV25) source)
5. Apply Histogram effect and enable (reset to defaults, uncheck Automatic)
6. Note the discolored & posterized video in the Compositor.
Actual Results:
Cyan-tinted video with posterization near areas of high contrast.

Expected Results:
Left the colors alone, no posterization.

SUV theme, happens with default Blond one as well.
